Weekly News. Week Beginning 20th May 2019

Sports day went extremely well on Monday and all the children in year 4 had a brilliant time.

This week, we have finished reading the saga of Beowulf. He met a rather gruesome end, but many of the children were cheering on the dragon! Our last activity will be to map out the story so that we can retell it orally in the Anglo Saxon Style.

We came to the end of our topic on Traders and Raiders with an examination of the Viking people and their invasion of the Anglo Saxon lands. We have finished our topic now, but if your children would like to learn more, we can strongly recommend that they visit Sutton Hoo over the half term.

In maths, we have continued using our knowledge of decimals to help us solve problems with money. Don't forget that the children need to be practising for the Government's times tables tests in June. Check out the link on the previous post.
