This week, we have delved further into the murky world of Beowulf and Grendel. Our stomachs have lurched at the thought of the terrible injuries inflicted on the monster by the hero and we have imagined different ways that the story could play out afterwards.
With warfare on our minds, we have also studied the Anglo -Saxon kingdoms that arose in the seventh century, and how the kings held their power. The children have challenged themselves to learn, and remember, the names of all seven kingdoms.
In science, we have continued to look at electrical circuits. We have learned how to draw diagrams to represent them, and help us predict how they will work.
In maths, we have begun to apply our shiny new knowledge of decimals to the understanding of pounds and pence.
We have made the most of the sunshine this week, and have been practising our race for sports day. We hope you will be able to join us next monday.
