30th March 2020

Hello

Hope you are all doing well.

I have placed some new content onto Education City. I notice that a few of you have had a go already, but have only tried the maths.

Don't forget that there are some English activities too.

This content will expire on Friday. I will keep a list of children who complete all six activities. There will be some kind of prize when we return to school for those of you who have a go at everything.

Have you spent too much time staring at a screen? Well now it's time to get busy. Have a go at some of the activities on this site: https://www.norwichssp.co.uk/pe-home-learning/

Week Beginning 23rd March 2020

Hello Everyone

Our blog is back up and running. We will update it weekly and then keep it updated throughout the week.

This weeks maths should be good revision for the children, as it is all about decimals:  https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-4/

Don't forget that Education City is now up and running properly.

We have put some maths and English activities on the Homework section of Education City and will continue to add more.  There are also activities for other areas of the curriculum for you to investigate by going to the Subjects tab on the homepage.

Bug Club also provides lots of reading resources that have been allocated based on each child's reading ability.
Your children know their logon details.

Weekly News 12th March 2020

This week, we had a very special visitor. Tim from the Norfolk Music Service came to year 4 to teach us how to become Japanese Taiko drummers. The children learned a variety of spectacular drumming patterns and created a performance for the rest of the school. If you wish to see a recording of the performance, we will be showing it at our year group assembly on the 23rd March.

Don't forget that our musical journey continues on the 18th March, when we will be singing at Norwich Cathedral after school.

In science, we are - of course - looking at sound. We have conducted noise surveys around the school and recorded our results as bar charts. We have learned that the loudness of a sound is set by the size of the vibration that makes it.

In English, we are continuing to read a book set in Cornwall, a story of life seen through the eyes of a cat. The children have enjoyed thinking about figurative language, similes and metaphors.

In maths we have started to learn about decimal fractions. Can you help your child to see examples of them in day to day life?

Audition reminder

Just a reminder to those children who wish to play an instrument (or sing a song) in our year group assembly. We will be holding 'auditions' on Tuesday afternoon (10th March). Please remember to bring in your instrument.
