Sorting Solids, Liquids & Gases

In Science, we have started to look at sorting objects based on whether they are a solid, liquid or a gas. The children were given a tray of objects and an opportunity to discuss their groupings. 

Some excellent questions were asked, for example: "If sand can be poured, does that make it a liquid?" We will be thinking about the answer to this question next week.

I hope all of the students in Giraffe Class have been enjoying the snow safely over the last few days and are looking forward to returning to an exciting week of learning on Monday!

I wonder if you could help me out! I have found this peculiar, icy item. At first, I thought it was an ice wand to be used to make the snow disappear, but that didn't work...

I have put it on a tray in my warm house to preserve it.

To drink or not to drink...

We have loved the launch of our new topic 'Potions' this week. We enjoyed finding clues hidden around school, solving them to gain access to a mystery item: a 'drink me' bottle. What would you do with it?

Sweet Surprise

As they have been working so hard this half term, this afternoon the adults in Giraffe Class treated the children to a sweet surprise! We have been studying Christianity this week, in particular Shrove Tuesday, so the children were cooked pancakes as a well-earned treat (this caused a rather loud cheer!). Some beautiful and creative masterpieces were also made by the children in the Art room.

A special thank you to Mr Lawrence and Mrs Sutcliffe for all their hard work in the kitchen!

Wow - what a fantastic morning we have had! We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our inspirational presentations and incredible knowledge of factors and multiples with our visitors. Thank you to all that attended and for the incredibly positive feedback!
