Weekly News 12th March 2020

This week, we had a very special visitor. Tim from the Norfolk Music Service came to year 4 to teach us how to become Japanese Taiko drummers. The children learned a variety of spectacular drumming patterns and created a performance for the rest of the school. If you wish to see a recording of the performance, we will be showing it at our year group assembly on the 23rd March.

Don't forget that our musical journey continues on the 18th March, when we will be singing at Norwich Cathedral after school.

In science, we are - of course - looking at sound. We have conducted noise surveys around the school and recorded our results as bar charts. We have learned that the loudness of a sound is set by the size of the vibration that makes it.

In English, we are continuing to read a book set in Cornwall, a story of life seen through the eyes of a cat. The children have enjoyed thinking about figurative language, similes and metaphors.

In maths we have started to learn about decimal fractions. Can you help your child to see examples of them in day to day life?
