Weekly news 31st October 2019

This week, we have been very busy preparing for our year group assembly. We will be performing a play about the Romans in Britain and Boudicca's rebellion. The children have all been very keen to have speaking parts and are working hard to learn them.

This is the last week of our Roman's topic and after next Monday, we will be starting a new topic called 'Potions'. Our main focus will be the changing state of matter and the history of medicine.

In maths, we are finding out about perimeter and have been using our new knowledge to solve challenges and problems.

The children's home learning this term has been absolutely outstanding and we have lots of copies of their work displayed on our walls. Thank-you to all of you who have helped and supported your children to demonstrate such brilliant learning. This term, you will find that we have asked the children to undertake a single project, which they will hopefully find fun and engaging.

This week, we also had a visit from the children's author and illustrator Nick Butterworth. The children were amazed to see how quickly and skilfully he drew his characters and listened carefully to his advice on starting and writing stories.

We look forward to seeing you at our assembly at 2.15 on Monday.
